Dawn and Mike Eaton are the dynamic team behind Eaton Marine. Dawn directs all business and accounting functions to facilitate smooth day to day operations, while Mike, ever the boat builder since age 12, directs all manufacturing and build operations on the shop floor. He maintains the highest level of hands-on participation and expertly trains all staff. Eaton Marine remains current and adept in all emerging building practices and technologies by traveling to, and participating in, industry expositions and conferences all over the globe.
Given their three decades of experience as business owners and builders in the marine industry, combined with a dedication to utilizing cutting edge building technologies, the Eatons deliver exceptional products and service. In 1995 Dawn and Mike relocated from Dorset, UK to Dubai, UAE where they reside with their family. When not on the factory floor you’ll find Mike out surfing or racing in a regatta while Dawn is playing 18 holes on a local golf course.
Our roots
Founding Seaquest Ltd. in 1993, Mike and Dawn Eaton set up their first factory based in Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom. Building a range of sailing mono-hulls between 32ft to 45ft, Seaquest utilised world-renowned yacht designers to the likes of Reichel-Pugh and Stephen Jones. Designs focused on performance racing yachts while providing comfort of cruising.
In 1994, Seaquest’s SJ320 was launched and immediately began winning races in the same year such as the Cowes week, which was won in five consecutive years. In the next years, the new ranges RP36 and Prima-38 went on to win prestigious sailing awards such as the U.S. ‘Best Race Yacht of The Year’, RYA ‘Yacht of the Year’ and Dubai ‘Yacht Builder of the Year’ (during two consecutive years).
In 2005, MKM Commercial Holdings LLC invested into Seaquest and moved their manufacturing to Dubai with the purpose of increasing the regions sailing and racing activities. The move was to a larger facility with a plan to increase the manufacturing capability with new, larger projects on the horizon.
In 2013 Mike established Eaton Marine. In a change to previous manufacturing to adapt to the local market demand Eaton Marine focused on providing RINA classed high speed diesel powered ferries to the growing commercial sector in the region. Since 1993 the brand quickly gained traction on the global markets and became popular in England, Europe, Scandinavia’s, Australia and the U.S.A.
